The League is officially recognized by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) as a lay association of women and is affiliated with the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organizations (WUCWO), a worldwide federation holding membership in the conference of International Catholic Organizations (ICO) and having consultative status with agencies of the United Nations (UN).

  • Achieve individual and collective spiritual development
  • Promote the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Exemplify the Christian ideal in home and family life
  • Protect the sanctity of human life
  • Enhance the role of women in church and society
  • Recognize the human dignity of all people everywhere

Mission Statement

The Catholic Women's League of Canada calls its members to grow in faith, and to witness to the love of God through ministry and service.

The Catholic Women’s League is an organization that contributes to the life and vitality of the church, family and community, both at home and abroad. Its a wonderful way to meet other women in the parish, to share ideas, build friendships, support, socialize, develop spiritually, continue to build the spirit of generosity, gain a greater insight into our role and mission as baptized Christians.

Land Acknowledgement for Highland Creek

Highland Creek is on Indigenous land. This is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee (ho-den-oh-sho-nee) Confederacy (aka. the Six Nations Confederacy), the Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.  We gratefully acknowledge these Indigenous nations for their guardianship of this land. We’d also like to remind and reaffirm, as Torontonians and Canadians, our accountability to these Indigenous nations, and to all Indigenous peoples and communities living in Toronto.

This land is also part of the Dish with One Spoon territory, a treaty between the Haudenosaunee Confederacy (aka. The Six Nations Confederacy), the Anishinaabek (Ah-nish-nah-bek) and allied nations, to peaceably share and care for this land, its waters, and all of the biodiversity in the Great Lakes region. All those who come to live and work here are responsible for honouring this treaty in the spirit of peace, friendship, and respect.
