The Couples For Christ Foundation for Family & Life (CFCFFL) is a gathering of parishioners having evangelization and family life renewal as its main focus. CFC-FFL is a missionary body, and the families that make up this association are to be families that will be instruments of the Holy Spirit in renewing the face of the earth.

The CFC-FFL St. Joseph is affiliated nationally with CFC-FFL Canada. It is Global, Holistic and Catholic. Being global means CFC-FFL is an evangelizing and missionary community, serving the universal church. Holistic refers to CFC-FFL being a family life renewal movement, with womb-to-tomb support environment. Catholic means CFCFFL is an integral part of the life and mission of and a servant within the Roman Catholic Church.

To date, CFC-FFL (Canada) is present in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, and Ottawa, and globally, i over 60 countries. Aside from our vision and mission statements, our statement of philosophy, our covenant, we also have our Core Values.

These Core Values are:

  • Centered on Christ
  • Evangelistic and missionary
  • Focused on the Family
  • Being Community
  • Living a Preferential Option for the Poor
  • Exercising servant Leadership, and
  • Being a Servant to the Church

All these are our guideposts in ensuring that we move forward according to God's plan for us.

Our work of evangelization is about a renewal of faith. It is first and foremost re-evangelization, where we bring nominal or lapsed Catholics to a renewal of their faith, through transformation in Christ and empowerment by the Holy Spirit. This is the foremost challenge, as many Christians today are no longer truly Christian, even for those who still go through the motions of Christian activities.

Then we evangelize within the context of the renewal of the family. The family is the basic unit of society, and what happens within the family is what determines the kind of people who live their lives in society. In this work of renewing the family, we provide strong support environments for every member of the family--the kids, the youth, the singles, the couples, the handmaids and the servants.

Finally, we are called to defend, preserve, strengthen, renew and celebrate faith, family and life. We conduct regular Christian Life Seminars, marriage enrichment retreats, household prayer meetings, formation teachings, youth camps, among many other programs. This year, our theme is taken from Deuteronony 30:19c:

"Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live."
