Sunday School teaches catechism to children once a week. It is intended to assist parents, the primary faith teachers, in their children’s Faith journey. If you have a child in Grade 1 to 7 who is not in the Catholic School Board, St Joseph's Sunday School is for your child. If you have a child in Grade 1 to 7 who IS in the Catholic School Board, but you want them to repeat some faith teachings, St Joseph's Sunday School is for your child. If you have a child in Grade 2 to 10 who has not received the Sacrament of Baptism, Reconciliation, Holy Communion or Confirmation at the usual age, St Joseph's Sunday School is for your child. We gather for Catechism on Sunday mornings, between 10 and 11 AM in the basement rooms. For children adding the Sacraments, it may be necessary to add the class from 9:30 to 10 AM. Your child will be placed in appropriate classes that will help him/her draw closer to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Registration is required for any of the classes.
NOTE: The year your child is preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the Sacrament of First Holy Communion or the Sacrament of Confirmation, Sacramental classes are in addition to Sunday School, and offered by the Pastoral Associate. Information is included on the Sunday School Registration Form.
Registration will be held on 3 consecutive Sundays: September 15th, Sept 22nd, Sept 29th, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, in the Church Narthex. Bring your completed forms (one per child) to any of the above mentioned registration sessions. If you missed these registration sessions, please contact the Sunday School coordinator to discuss your options.
