The parish is part of the Archdiocese of Toronto and is ministered to by the Spiritans.
This year (2024) St Joseph’s celebrates 170 years of being a community of the faithful. As a parish family, it reflect the composition of Canada, a tapestry of people from many parts of the world. Established originally to serve an immigrant population and now the spiritual home to Catholics from every continent, St. Joseph’s was the first Catholic church of the Archdiocese built in Scarborough. It is the fourth oldest in the City of Toronto.
