REFLECTION

One of the distinctive features of the Gospel of John is Jesus’ “I am” statements, which reveal who He is and what He offers us. In today’s Gospel, Jesus describes Himself as “the gate,” the entry into the sheepfold and a place of safety, peace, and life. While a gate can seem like a barrier, it is also an opening. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, keeps this gate open for us, inviting us into a life of security and belonging. Yet we are called to listen to His voice and not be led astray by false paths or influences that seek to harm. Though we may encounter challenges and temptations, faith in Christ gives us the strength to persevere. The open gate reminds us that Jesus welcomes us always, leading us toward “green pastures”—the promise of lasting peace and eternal life.

notice

There will be no Mass in our parish on Tuesday, March 31. Thinking about doing your wedding in the Church? Great move! The way to go is to call the parish office and schedule an appointment with the priest at least 12 months before your desired wedding date. It is a requirement in the Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto.
