REFLECTION

In Matthew 21, Jesus shares the Parable of the Two Sons. When asked to help in the vineyard, one son says "no," but later changes his heart and goes. The other politely replies, "Yes, sir," but never steps foot in the field. Jesus uses this gentle story to remind us that God looks beyond polished words, titles, and formal appearances. The vineyard isn't a place for speeches or grand gestures. It is a place of loving, practical work. True faith and genuine appreciation for one another aren't found in empty declarations or obligations, but in quiet humility, kind consideration, and simple acts of everyday service. It is how we treat the people around us in our parish, our workplaces, and our homes that truly reflects the Gospel. This week, let us ask ourselves: How can we move past simple words and show real, heartfelt care to those who serve alongside us every day?

BEFORE YOU FIX YOUR WEDDING DATE

Thinking about doing your wedding in the Church? Great move! The way to go is to call the parish office and schedule an appointment with the priest at least 12 months before your desired wedding date. It is a requirement in the Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto.

Hoping for the best for you as you process and make this important life-long decision

Do you have family members or friends who are curious about the Catholic Church, or looking to complete their Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist)? Invite them to join our Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program! RCIA offers a welcoming environment to ask questions, explore the rich traditions of our faith, and discern entering fully into the Catholic Church.

Dates: Sep 28,2026 through April 26, 2027.

Who it’s for: Unbaptized adults, baptized non-Catholics seeking full communion, or baptized Catholics needing Confirmation and/or First Holy Communion.

life chain

Life Chain is a peaceful public witness to the sanctity of human life and the evil of abortion. Christians pray for its end and hold signs bearing truths such as “Abortion Kills Children,” “Abortion Hurts Women,” and “Jesus Forgives & Heals” at hundreds of locations from coast to coast. Please set aside just one hour on Sunday, October 4th from 2:00 – 3:00 to gather together at Lawrence and Kingston Rds. This is a special opportunity to provide our neighbours with a much needed wake-up call. Remember how Our Lord asked His apostles:

“Could you not watch one hour with me?” (Mk 14:37)

DID YOU KNOW

Jesus teaches that doing God's will matters more than merely talking about it?
St. Francis became a saint because he acted on the Gospel he heard rather than simply admiring it?
The most convincing witness to faith is a life that reflects what it professes?

Edge Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry members want to pray for your intentions this Easter season. We also invite you to please pray for us and consider helping our youth participate in events like EDGE Camp and Lift Jesus Higher Rally with a donation using the colourful envelopes available at the back of the church. Thank you and God bless.

EDGE will meet on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month.
