Did you know that our Spiritual Advisor, Fr Oliver Iwuchukwu is also a singer, other than being a powerful preacher?
At the Second Sunday of Lent mass,  Fr Oliver opened his homily singing  "Lead Me, Guide Me"

Lead me, Guide me

Lead me, guide me, along the way.
For if you lead me, I cannot stray.
Lord, let me walk each day with Thee.
Lead me, Lord, lead me.

To where? To Heaven!

As we journey though life, we experience times of darkness: loneliness, sickness, frustrations, anxieties, fears, doubts, worries.

Do remember, always turn to Jesus.

This is my Son, the Chosen. Listen to Him.”

Focus on Him. Trust Him.

Let our Lenten journey be grace-filled and fruitful

THERESE BADRIA

Greetings of Peace Fr Oliver and Sisters in the League,

I am pleased to share with you that we had been blessed for the past two months with our ongoing interactions as a League within our ownParish Council and with other CWL Councils.

Some of us attended a number of CWL events and meetings virtually Zoom: training sessions, prayer services, monthly meetings, Development Day, Parish Executive Trainings.

In person, some of us continued to serve at StJoseph’s as Lectors. Eucharistic Ministers, andUshers.

Truly, we are a blessed community of dedicated and committed Catholic sisters serving God andCanada, in our own little way.

With this year’s theme, “Catholic and Living It”,we are fully embracing our Catholic faith through our actions, the way we live, so others can see truly that we are indeed members of the Catholic Women’s League.

Let’s continue to inspire others – our family, friends, colleague, and our fellow parishioners.

Our membership challenge is sill ongoing! Have you invited someone yet to CWLand have been told, “Not interested”?Never give up! Be persistent and have patience. In God’s time, they will also be called.

Matthew 22:14: “For many are invited, but few are chosen”.

Please join me, along with many otherCWL sisters on April 28-29, 2022 for the in-person 101th Toronto Diocesan Convention in Toronto Airport Marriot Hotel. Our Council will pay for your registration fees and banquet dinner. If interested, please let us know by March31, 2022.

We continue to pray for each other, specially what is going on in Ukraine.

Message from the Past President, Marla Tanuan

Our Dear Sisters in the League:

What Should We Give Up for Lent?

This year, March 2 was Ash Wednesday which marked the beginning of Lent. If you really want some serious spiritual growth, don’t just go for the bare minimum of abstinence from meat on Fridays. Here are some suggestions you can meditate upon to help you decide. But before you even read the questions, ask the Lord in prayer what He wants you to give up for Lent.

  1. What is the one thing stopping you from improving your relationship with God?
  2. Name one spiritual discipline you wish you were good at.
  3. Name something that takes up way too much of your time.
  4. Name something that you find difficult to let go, but would if you absolutely have to.
  5. Are there sins you need to confess or habits you need to let change?

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Ordinandi Dinner 2022

Let's Pray

OUR LADY OF GOOD COUNSEL

OUR LADY OF GOOD COUNSEL
NOVENA APRIL 18 TO APRIL 26
Feast Day, April 26, 2022

Holy Virgin, moved by the painful uncertainty we experience in seeking and acquiring the true and the good, we cast ourselves at thy feet and invoke thee under the sweet title ofMother of Good Counsel.

We beseech thee: come to our aid at this moment in our worldly sojourn when the double darkness of error and of evil plot our ruin by leading minds and hearts astray.

Seat of Wisdom and Star of the Sea, enlighten the victims of doubt and of error so that they may not be seduced by evil masquerading as good; strengthen them against the hostile and corrupting forces of passion and of sin.

Mother of Good Counsel, obtain for us our most urgent need:

(here mention your request)

and secure for us from thy Divine Son the love of virtue and the strength to choose, in doubtful and difficult situations, the course agreeable to our salvation.

Supported by thy hand we shall thus journey without harm along the paths taught us by the word and example of Jesus our Saviour, following the Sun of Truth and Justice in freedom and safety across the battlefield of life under the guidance of thy maternal Star, until we come at length to the harbour of salvation to enjoy with thee unalloyed and everlasting peace. Amen

Say the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be three times each

Synod Survey

Pope Francis has launched the Synod on Synodality, an ambitious two-year global process of listening to the faithful.

With the Synod on Synodality, Pope Francis is asking every Catholic to help discern what the Holy Spirit is telling us at this moment as the Church enters its third millennium.

The first phase of the Synod on Syndodality will last through the first half of 2022 and will see the world’s faithful sharing their thoughts at a diocesan level. All those diocesan-level responses will be collected and summarized. Then the bishops of Canada will meet to discuss what they heard in their respective dioceses, followed by larger multinational meetings and, ultimately, culminating in a synod of bishops in theVatican in 2023.

Your participation is incredibly important for the success of the Synod on Synodality, so we kindly ask you to complete the survey below. Thank you and God bless.
