REFLECTION
Jesus’ ministry is completed, his friends left to their own devices. With several others, Peter has gone fishing—unsuccessfully, until Jesus directs their efforts. They recognize him because of their huge catch. The Lord invites them to share the meal he has prepared, a sign of the eucharistic meal his disciples will share in the future. Once Peter had boasted of his love for Christ, only to deny him three times during the passion. Now Jesus requires from Peter a threefold renewal of commitment before he is given special pastoral responsibility for the Church. Much will be demanded of Peter in the future; as Christ the shepherd laid down his life, so must Peter, but not before he has preached courageously about Jesus, as we are told in Acts. The vision described in the passage from Revelation allows us to glimpse the heavenly liturgy of praise. The life of every Christian, whether in prayer or in ministry to others, is part of this great hymn of glory. Easter has opened up for us a new dimension of life.

Come see the Eucharistic Miracles Exhibition!
The Relics Veneration centers on the soon-to-be-canonized Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giogio Frassati from May 3 – 11.
Come venerate the Relics of the soon-to-be-canonized holy men!
Blessed Carlo Acutis
Blessed Acutis was a millennial known for championing devotion to the Holy Eucharist by creating a website called “Eucharistic Miracles of the World”. His life of profound love to all, especially the disadvantaged, serves to inspire many from all walks of life. One among Blessed Acutis’s famous quotes is: “People who place themselves before the sun get a tan; people who place themselves before the Eucharist become saints.”
Blessed Pier Giogio Frassati
Blessed Frassati was known for his charitable outreach, caring for the poor, the homeless, the sick, and the demobilized service men and women returning from World War I. His motto as a climber: “Verso L’Alto” meaning “to the heights,” continues to inspire many to strive for the summit of eternal life with Christ
Did you know?
- Jesus made multiple post-Resurrection Appearances to his disciples at different places and times, as is the case in today’s Gospel reading?
- In appearing to Peter and 6 other disciples by the Sea of Tiberias when they caught no fish all night, Jesus instructed them to cast their fishing net to the right side of their boat for a good catch?
- After a breakfast of smoked fish and bread with Peter and the other 6 disciples, Jesus asked Peter: “Do you love me?” 3 times, which in a way, gets Peter to undo the 3 times he denied Jesus?
Upcoming Sacraments
SACRED HEART OF JESUS STATUE
For many years, our Parish has devoted the First Friday of each month to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus with the Eucharistic Celebration, Adoration and Novena Prayers, with special intention for the increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
This Jubilee Year 2025, we are planning to celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 27, 2025, with the blessing of a 58” statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We humbly ask for your generous support for the purchase of the statue. Special blue “Sacred Heart of Jesus Statue Offering” envelopes are available at the back of the church.
Please include your church envelope number and drop it in the collection basket.
Thank you and May God continue to bless you.
