REFLECTION
Today we celebrate All Souls’ Day, a solemn time to remember and pray for all the faithful departed. The Gospel recalls the touching story of Jesus raising the widow’s son, revealing His deep compassion for human suffering and His power to restore life. Our modern world, too, is filled with sorrow and families torn apart by war, violence, poverty, and loss. It is easy to become discouraged or numb to the pain around us. Yet Jesus never turned away from the suffering. He entered into it, offering comfort, healing, and resurrection. As we remember our departed loved ones, may this day renew our trust in God’s promise of eternal life. Let us pray that the souls of the faithful departed may rest in peace and that God may also deepen our compassion for the living. Through our prayers, acts of mercy, and faith-filled service, may we help bring about the new creation where love conquers all and death is no more. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. Amen.

Did you know?
- Special celebrations such as Baptism, Funeral, Wedding, First Communion, Confirmation, etc, are all solemn and life-giving celebrations requiring us to be sober and respectful when we gather for any of them in the Church?
- For any of these Church celebrations, we need to focus on what the moment is about and not merely on meeting those we haven’t seen in a long while?
- Assigning at most just 2 persons to take pictures and videos keeps such celebrations deeply nourishing, clearly solemn, and thoroughly meaningful?
Registration for youth in Grade 6, 7, and 8 has begun. EDGE will meet on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month starting on October 10th.
