REFLECTION
Today’s Gospel calls us to ask ourselves whether we put as much wisdom and prudence into securing our eternal life and eternal inheritance as the worldly take in ensuring their worldly future. In Luke 16:9, Jesus urges us to use the same amount of effort and seriousness that the worldly apply in securing wealth to honestly and justly secure a place in the Kingdom and lay up eternal treasures for ourselves. Our eternal future, far more in value than amassing worldly wealth, deserves all the efforts and seriousness we can muster to secure it. May we recognize the urgency of this and seek just and honest ways to live with each other and ultimately secure the wealth of imperishable life with God.
