REFLECTION

As we approach the summer months, we pause to reflect on the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, two pillars of the early Church who were called despite their imperfections, into deep friendship and mission with Jesus Christ. Jesus asked them the question He still asks each of us: “ Who do you say I am?” This summer as routines slow down and we find space to rest, may we also find time to respond to this question in our own hearts. Whether in moments of peace or challenge, like Peter and Paul, we are invited into a relationship with Christ rooted in truth, trust and openness to growth. May this season be one of renewal, spiritually and personally, as we continue our journey of faith

Our Lady’s Grotto Project

Join in Building a Parish Grotto of Mother Mary.

We invite you to be part of this special parish project by donating towards a Grotto Stone or more in ‘Memory of a Loved One’.

Please donate $50 for each Grotto Stone. To donate, place the following in the special Grotto envelope:

  1. Your donation
  2. The name(s) of your loved one(s).

Also, write your name and parish envelope number on the same special Grotto envelope and place it in the collection basket.

In appreciation of your generosity at the completion of the Grotto:

  1. There will be a parish special Mass of Thanksgiving for all the donors, of course every parishioner is welcome to attend this Mass,
  2. The names of the loved ones of every single donor will be compiled and memorialized in a canister to be enclosed inside the Grotto’s foundation base. So, YOUR LOVED ONE’S NAME WILL NOT BE WRITTEN ON THE GROTTO STONES YOU MADE A DONATION FOR.
  3. A prayer plaque with a general appreciation of all the donors will be mounted on the façade of the Grotto’s foundation stone base. So, NO INDIVIDUAL DONOR’S NAME WILL BE WRITTEN ON THE PLAQUE

Thanks for your generosity!

“That Blessed Upper Room” – Pastoral Letter from Frank Cardinal Leo

Frank Cardinal Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto, has released “That Blessed Upper Room,” a pastoral letter inviting the faithful of the archdiocese to reflect together on the significance of The Upper Room in our lives, our families and in our communities of faith as this story is so directly connected to pivotal events in the life of Jesus and of the early Church. The letter is divided into nine chapters, drawing on dimensions of our Catholic Christian life.

A short video introduction and the full pastoral letter can be accessed by visiting: www.archtoronto.org/thatblessedupperroom

Feel free to share the letter with family and friends.

Did you know?

  1. The Holy Communion is the Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity of Christ and must be received in a state of grace and with utmost reverence?

  2. You must consume the Holy Communion right away when you have received it either on your palm or mouth, in the presence of the Priest or Minister, and must not go with the Holy Communion to your seat or elsewhere?

  3. When you are not in a state of grace (committed mortal sin) you should not receive Holy Communion, but you could ask for a blessing by placing your arms across your chest?

Summer blessings

A we share our final bulletin before the summer, we pray this season brings you rest, joy and renewal. We entrust your dummer to the gentle care of St Joseph, our patron and protector – may he watch over your travels, your homes and your hearts.

God bless!
