REFLECTION
In today’s Gospel, Jesus invites us to reflect on our prayer life through the example of the proud Pharisee and the humble tax collector. Prayer is not about lofty words or perfect performance, it is about relationship. God desires to be close to us, to meet us in our everyday lives, in our joys and fears, our giftedness and our brokenness. When we come before God with a humble and open heart, like the tax collector, we open ourselves to His compassion, forgiveness, and love. True prayer frees us and allows us to unburden our hearts, to know and praise God more deeply, and to walk in gratitude and peace. There are many ways to pray, but every prayer is an invitation to experience God’s mercy and grace at work within us. We pray not out of duty, but because our hearts long for that divine connection. We pray because we are God’s beloved. Adapted from Living with Christ ,Julie Cachia,
