REFLECTION

As we near the end of the liturgical year, today’s readings remind us to pause, reflect, and realign our hearts with God’s will. Life’s distractions can easily pull us away from what truly matters, yet God calls us to continual conversion—like tuning our spiritual compass to stay on course. This World Day of the Poor invites us to make compassion and service a priority. Let us see Christ in those who struggle, extend mercy where it’s needed most, and allow love of God and neighbour to guide every step toward the new liturgical year.

touchless digital payments

The Archdiocese of Toronto has partnered with Tip Tap Pay so that you can help support your parish with a simple tap. Simply tap the ‘tiptap’ device to give to your parish. That’s it!

Once registered, you will receive an end-of-year tax receipt for your ‘tiptap’ donations (ONLY physical Debit/Credit cards are available for tax receipts)

Thank you for your kind heart and for supporting our church!

World Day of the Poor –How Can We Live as Friends of the Poor?

November 16 is World Day of the Poor in the Catholic Church.

In his Message for the 2024 World Day of the Poor, Pope Francis says: “ We are called in every circumstance to be friends of the poor, following in the footsteps of Jesus who always began by showing solidarity when dealing with the least among us.”

Living as friends of the poor is what our parish conference of the Society of Saint Vincent the Paul is trying to do for our most vulnerable neighbours.

To join our mission send us an email at stjosephsSC@archtoronto.org or to learn more about the work of the Society please visit www.ssvptoronto.org.

This means committing to help with the Grotto’s ongoing seasonal care and maintenance e.g. clearing of leaves, snow and other weather-related debris that may accumulate around the statue as well as the tidying up of flowers that have been left behind. Holy Land Olive Wood Sale – November 22 & 23

Next weekend, on November 22 & 23 , a group will be visiting St. Joseph Parish offering beautiful handcrafted olive wood religious articles from the Holy Land. Your support through the purchase of these items is a direct way to show solidarity and care for our fellow Christians in need. Accepted methods of payment include Visa, Mastercard, Debit, and Cash.
