REFLECTION

John the Baptist calls us to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord with true repentance and renewed purpose. Just as children’s eyes sparkle with anticipation, our adult hearts too can be made clean and ready to welcome Christ. The Gospel reminds us that the Kingdom of Heaven is near, and our lives must bear the fruits of genuine conversion. As we move through Advent, we look to the past, present, and future work of the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit and fire. May this season awaken in us hearts that shine with sincerity, humility, and repentance, producing good fruit as we await the transforming grace of Jesus’ Incarnation.

The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight

Could God be calling you to be a priest, deacon, brother or sister in order to help our world of today to truly “prepare the way of the Lord”?

If God is calling you, contact Fr. Matt McCarthy, Director of Vocations, Archdiocese of Toronto at 416-968-0997.
