REFLECTION

This Fifth Sunday of Lent reminds us that all people experience moments of sadness, loss, and grief. The readings invite us to bring these real experiences to God with trust. In the first reading, the people of Israel feel far from home and far from hope. Through the prophet Ezekiel, God promises to lift them up and bring them back to life again. It is a reminder that God never abandons us, even when our spirits feel low or our days feel heavy. In the Gospel, Jesus meets Martha and Mary as they grieve the death of their brother, Lazarus. Jesus listens, stands with them, and then reveals that he is the resurrection and the life. His presence brings hope in the midst of sorrow and reminds us that God’s love is stronger than any darkness we face. Lent is a time to be honest about our struggles, yet also a time to renew our trust in God’s faithful care. As we draw closer to Easter, we are invited to believe once again that God can bring new life out of situations that seem lost or beyond our strength. May this week help us walk with quiet confidence, knowing that God is always leading us toward life.

notice

There will be no Mass in our parish on Tuesday, March 31. This is because all the priests in our archdiocese, including the priests serving in our parish, will be attending the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral, in preparation for the Holy Week and Easter celebrations. To prepare for this, our Archbishop, Frank Cardinal Leo, invites us all to join the preparatory 3-Day Marian Triduum prayer from Sunday, March 22, to Tuesday, March 24. For us in this parish, the 3-Day preparatory Marian Triduum prayer will form part of the Sunday Masses at 5 pm on Saturday, 9 am, 11 am and 7 pm on Sunday. It will also be part of the Monday and Tuesday weekday Masses at 9 am.

Lenten Talk by Fr. Obinna Ifeanyi

Our Parish Prayer Group is happy to invite all parishioners and guests to attend the Lenten Talk by Fr. Obinna Ifeanyi, on Thursday, March 26th, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Fr. Obinna needs no introduction, as he is a well-known priest with our parishioners. Listen, be transformed by his inspiring and soul-searching talk, which will help you not only reflect on your faith but have a transformative experience during your Lenten journey. We hope to see you all there!

Handicraft Holy Land Christians

On the weekend of March 28–29, we welcome Vanessa from Sebastien Cardinal’s team, representing “Handicraft Holy Land Christians.” After all Masses, she will speak briefly about the challenges facing Christians in the Holy Land. Beautiful hand-carved olive wood religious items, made by Christian families in Bethlehem, will be available for purchase. Proceeds provide essential employment for our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land. Thank you for your prayers and generous support. May God bless you!
