REFLECTION
On this Second Sunday of Easter, we reflect on Jesus revealing Himself to His disciples after the Resurrection. Though they had experienced fear and failure, Jesus comes to them with peace. Thomas, who was not present at the first appearance, struggles to believe the others. Yet in His mercy, Jesus returns and invites Thomas to see and touch His wounds. Thomas responds with a profound declaration of faith: “My Lord and my God!” This moment reminds us that faith is a personal response to God’s invitation. Jesus meets each of us where we are, even in our doubts, and calls us to trust in Him. Faith is more than belief—it is a surrender of our whole lives, placing Christ at the center. The disciples, once hesitant and afraid, are transformed and sent out to proclaim the Gospel to all nations. Their witness shows that true faith is lived out with courage, even in the face of suffering. Through faith in Jesus, we receive a deep and lasting peace and joy that the world cannot give. As we conclude the Easter Octave, we are reminded that the Risen Lord calls each of us by name and invites us to live in the freedom of believing hearts. Do not doubt, but believe.
