Reflection
Jesus alone is our good shepherd. The measure of his love is his willingness to defend us, even at the cost of his life, against those who would cause our spiritual death. He knows each of us by name. He cares for us with the greatest tenderness while he is aware too of other people who are waiting to hear his voice. There must be only one flock, only one shepherd! How does Christ view our church divisions when his love for us is patterned on the love he shares with his Father, and his work is to introduce us into compromisingly selfless love for his flock and his willing obedience to the Father, proven by his voluntary death. It is through Jesus, the one who was rejected and crucified, that the world is saved, Peter preaches in Acts. John’s letter prepares us, God’s children, to share Christ’s rejection; but we will also share our shepherd’s communion with the Father when at last we see God face to face. That vision will transform us!

SHARELIFE
Living the Gospel by providing for those in need
“One of the core components of our Pastoral Plan is Catholic Outreach in Justice and Love. As a Catholic community we are called to be the hands and face of Jesus in our communities. ShareLife is a tangible way we can put the Gospel value to love one another as I have loved you into action. I invite all parishioners to support the mission work of the church by making a sacrificial gift to ShareLife.”
–Thomas Cardinal Collins, Archbishop of Toronto
